Review: My 3 Weeks With the Nikkor 14-30mm f/4 Prototype lens for the Z System
Last year I was fortunate enough to work with the soon-to-be-released 14-30mm f/4 lens for the Z system. Representatives of Nikon contacted me and asked if I would be interested in working on this project, in which I was asked to capture a large range of images which would show the strength of this new lens, be involved in a promotional behind-the-scenes video, and also offer feedback to the engineers so that they could improve their product.
It was a challenging few weeks as the core of my images had to be straight out of the camera JPEGS and to a high standard. I was given a shot list and asked to concentrate mainly on night cityscapes. The destination was entirely my choice. I was in Spain at the time so took advantage of that to shoot Toledo and Madrid, before returning home to the UK in order to shoot the northeast of England. Then the rest of the project was spent capturing Dubai’s spectacular skyline. Below are some of the images I captured.
