Capturing and editing fireworks exposures in Photoshop can be a bit challenging, and if you’re using conventional masking to blend firework exposures, it can take a long time. In this tutorial we are going to see how to blend multiple firework exposures extremely quickly and cleanly in Photoshop.
We’re also going to attempt to recover highlights by using luminosity masks and creating a darker exposure in ACR.
Thank you to Naufal Eiman for sending the exposures for this week’s Challenge Jimmy.
To take part in Challenge Jimmy, please email me at challengejimmymc (at) gmail (dot) com. Include a paragraph detailing what you found difficult, and attach a full sized JPEG of your final version.
I would suggest to add the reflection of the blended fireworks in the water, too.
You are so technically smart in addition to creative and talented! I watch your videos all the time, thank you for sharing your knowledge and craft – it’s incredibly generous of you.
