CJ8: How To Create Gorgeous Light Rays In Your Landscapes in Photoshop
This is the 8th episode of Challenge Jimmy, where you can send me your images and I can offer advice on processing them. If you’d like to take part, please email me your JPEGs at challengejimmymc (a) gmail.com
Thank you to Ryan Courreges for sending in today’s images. In this tutorial we will look at how to create beautiful light rays in Photoshop. But more than that, we will go through a full workflow, looking at how to blend exposures naturally, create a warm, Orton Effect and how to clean our images using 3 different techniques.
We will use two exposure blending techniques: Apply Image and Luminosity Masks. This is for recovering the sky. But we will also look at how to refine our masks so that we remove our selection from the mountain.
I mention a number of other videos in the tutorial. So that you don’t have to go into YouTube to access these tutorials, I have put them below for your convenience.
